About Angelos
»Through the lens, right into the veines: Photography is the ONLY way to catch the raw energy of life!«
I finished my studies in Photography&Art at the Art School Ruhrakademie Schwerte in Germany 2005. In 2004 I started the portrait project Platos Cave which constitutes an act of homage to the work of photographer August Sander. This work got nominated in 2006 for the 5. Photographic Encounter in Kythira (Greece), exhibited at the Goethe Institut and has been added to the archiv of immigration at DOMIT Cologne Germany.
2006 I won the Golden Light Award/ New York for Best Documentary Work of the year with my project »Social Strip«. In »Social Strip« I worked out the aspect of immigration in the life and works of a young Croatian woman who earns her income through exhibiting herself.
From the years 2006 to 2008 I have been covering the »New York Fashion Week« in colaboration with Finola Hughes (TV Moderator/Actress). Together we developed and hosted the fashion blog »so-tomorrow.com«
All in all: My work shifts from the Fine Art to the Commecial World — linked by an special artistic approach the medium of photography gives me.
